Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to the balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. In simple, it’s just your own hair transferred from hairy scalp to non-hairy scalp with surgical methods.

There are two basic techniques in male hair transplantation procedure which are differentiated based on graft harvesting techniques. These techniques are explained as follows:
(a) FUT hair transplant (Follicular unit transplantation):
FUT hair transplant technique is executed by harvesting a patch from the scalp skin which is further divided to retrieve individual follicular units. The harvested donor site is then sutured using the advanced approach “trichophytic closure”. The harvested follicular units are then planted at the recipient site.
(b) FUE hair transplant (Follicular unit extraction):
This hair transplant technique involves the handpicking of individual follicular units with the help of a punch like surgical device. The hair follicular grafts are further planted at the recipient site as per the aesthetic arrangement.
